Maybe this will be what finally coaxes Steve Guttenberg out of hiding?

After news first broke of a possible remake to the 1984 comedy Police Academy almost two years ago, EW has confirmed that?New Line Cinema has hired director Scott Zabielski to helm a new version of the?so-bad-it?s-good cult favorite that spawned no less than six sequels. Zabielski, who is making his feature directing debut, cut his teeth directing episodes of the Comedy Central hit Tosh.0, so he obviously knows from smart aleck renegades striving to buck the system. He is also, amazingly, a reserve police officer with the City of West Hollywood.

A rep for New Line says there is no word yet on casting.
