Obesity is one of the major problems faced by our generation today. The condition of having more than appropriate extra fat is called obesity. Not only does it look unattractive but it also causes a list of health problems not to mention its psychological and emotional impact to a person and those around him or her. Obesity has many causes. One can acquire it through to their genes or because of hormonal imbalances. One?s culture also plays a part on how a person becomes obese. But the most frequent cause of obesity would be a sedentary lifestyle and poor habits in eating.

Not doing a lot and not eating right go hand in hand in causing obesity in many people. Because of the fast paced lifestyle of today, people will opt for eating fast food instead of taking the time to make healthy meals. When they eat these foods they no longer pause to question how many calories they?re taking in at this meal. Not only that, but there are people who no longer ask themselves ?how many calories should I eat a day??. Other than eating beyond the necessary calories needed by the body, people also don?t exercise. As a result, the food that they consumed is not burned off by the body and so accumulates and over time becomes fat.

To be able to lessen the chances of obesity people must have a bit of self controlling. They must learn to lessen their consumption of foods full of fat and oil especially those with big amounts of butter or have been fried. People must chooses lean meat and fish and baked and broiled food instead. People must as well lessen the amount of salt and sugar that they take in. In other words, minimizing the intake of juice and soda and choosing tea and drinking a lot of water instead. They may as well reduce alcohol intake, particularly beer due to the fact that this has a lot of calories. People must as well exercise to get rid of the calories taken in. If they can?t exercise full time they can always opt for going for strolls, walking whenever they can and taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

If people don?t start to question themselves, ?how many calories should I eat a day?? or how many calories does a pastry contain before consuming it, they could have to face the numerous problems that go with obesity. For this reason, people should discipline themselves for a healthier them.
